Wedding dresses with plunging V-necklines are a major bridal trend, and a stylish alternative for brides who want to depart from a high neck or illusion netting. How do you accessorize such a skin-baring look? Our wedding etiquette experts are here to answer your wedding dress questions in our daily post.
What jewelry should I wear with a low-necked wedding dress?
A low neckline, like a deep V-neck, is great for a beach wedding, brides with smaller busts, and any bride looking to play with the traditional wedding dress silhouette. But if this is the look you are going for, be very mindful of your jewelry and accessory choices. Skip the necklace; you're making enough of a statement with your décolletage, says celebrity stylist Leslie Fremar, who has pulled together looks for A-listers like Charlize Theron and Reese Witherspoon. Instead, try dangling earrings, which frame your face and let your dress take center stage. We recommend these multi-colored sparklers (below), which will stand out while balancing your gown's neckline. You can also test out a chunky bangle. As for other bridal accessories, a flowing veil often is the perfect counterpoint to a plunging neckline; the combination of a long veil and a low neckline is a visual effect that will look lovely in your wedding photos. Think of it this way: When you walk down the aisle, it will slightly obscure your chest, giving your groom something extra exciting to look at as you advance toward him.
