The Talk co-host Sara Gilbert found something new — and exciting! — to chat about: her recent wedding to girlfriend, Linda Perry. Fresh off her honeymoon, Gilbert returned to her morning show to share some intimate wedding details with the audience.
Gilbert and Perry married in late March at One Gun Ranch in Malibu, California at what Gilbert describes as a "relaxed" and "casual" celebration. The pair, who were engaged for a year before saying "I do," broke with tradition by joining their guests for a cocktail party at the beginning of the night.
"We decided that we wanted to be together and enjoy people's company, because I think people miss that part of the wedding," Gilbert revealed on The Talk earlier this week. After spending time with friends and family, the entire party — led by the brides — headed down the hill for a romantic ceremony beneath a rustic alter to exchange sentimental vows.
"It's been really funny though because [Linda has] been super competitive when people say they cried at the wedding. She's like, 'Well, whose vows did you cry at? Mine or Sara's?'" Gilbert joked.
The party then moved back up the hill for a seated dinner beneath glowing café lights. Guests, including The Talk co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, Julie Chen, and Sheryl Underwood, dined on an entirely vegan meal.
But not every detail went off without a hitch. Their officiant fell sick the morning of their nuptials and a last-minute replacement had to be flown in that day! "That made it all impromptu and that made it kind of sweet and casual," Gilbert said.

Though the surprises didn't end there: Perry took the stage to serenade her bride-to-be with a rendition of John Lennon's "Love," while Annabella Lwin, Martha Davis, Dale Bozzio, and Terri Nunn all performed later in the night as a gift from Perry to Gilbert.
Still glowing in her newlywed bliss, Gilbert revealed that she feels different since tying the knot. "I guess you feel like you've really committed and it's not about, 'Can I deal with this quality or not deal with it?' It becomes, 'How will we deal with our relationship together?' and, 'How will we make it work?'"
It sounds like these two have a pretty spectacular perspective on their relationship. If their wedding day is any indication, Gilbert and Perry will certainly have a marriage filled with lots of love and surprises!
