By now you know that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are planning a blowout bash in Paris next month. Set to celebrate the union of the #WorldsMostTalkedAboutCouple on May 24, the notoriously over-the-top pair locked down an appropriately opulent venue in the City of Light — which, reportedly will cost $28 million. And while it seems that nothing can stop Kim from getting her third fairytale ending, French residency law stands in the way of two celebs who are used to getting exactly what they want (except, of course, Versailles). Though, leave it to Kimye to find a way to work around it!

To skirt the law, which states that one member of the future married couple must reside in France for 40 days before the nuptial, Kim and Kanye will tie the knot this week, TMZ reports. Apparently, they have already obtained a marriage license and will have a private civil ceremony this week in Los Angeles. In order to keep the event top secret, Kimye won't go to the courthouse. Instead, the officiant is coming to them (but, of course).

"Sources tell us ... with a confidential license, K&K won't have to appear publicly at a courthouse to get married ... instead, an official from the court will actually go to them and perform the ceremony privately in their home," TMZ reports.

Real brides-to-be throwing a destination wedding can actually learn something from Kimye's unexpected issue: Be sure to check local laws before choosing a location. You might want to make like North West's mom and dad and secretly get married in the states to avoid any legal headaches.
