Q: Can you recommend an at-home skin treatment? A spa day doesn't quite fit into my budget.
Drew Barrymore: Yes! It's been nine months since my last facial (working pregnant mom), so doing one at home is often my only option. Two things I love: Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate (watch out, it stings a bit!) and a Tatcha Deep Hydrating Lifting Mask ($28). I look like Hannibal Lecter in front of my husband, but after I watch one 30-minute episode of The Colbert Report with that mask on, I look and feel better. Happy hydrating!
Q I'm getting married on the beach. What hairstyle will look polished and withstand wind and humidity? I don't want it to be fussy or fall down.
DB: It actually took me five minutes to do my hair on my wedding day. My friend threw it up in a bun, and we left it at that. You should style your hair in a way that makes you not think about it. Anything with too much upkeep is silly; enhanced natural gets my vote. For a beach wedding, do some loose waves and try a beach spray, which will help put your hair in the element.
Q: I want to jump on the colored-eyeliner trend for my wedding, but I don't want to look crazy in my photos. How can I apply it to look pretty and subtle?
DB: Pick colors that are chic, not cheap. Anything too bright or pastel might be too much of a statement on your special day. So if you're thinking blue, try a navy. If you want purple, go aubergine. If you want green, choose a shade of khaki or olive. You can pair any of those colors with a red or nude lip and you'll look totally sophisticated. P.S.: Play with products beforehand and have fun!
