Just in time for the most romantic day of the year, Nick spoke to ABC News about how he and Vanessa, who have been married since 2011 and have one child, son Camden, together, keep their relationship exciting.
"You always have to keep it spontaneous—surprise dinners, flowers, concerts," the former 98 Degrees star said. "They all make a difference."
If that sounds above and beyond, many couples will relate to how the couple juggle parenthood and couple-time. "Our time together is after we put Camden down for the night," Lachey added. "So much of the rest of our day is dedicated to him and work, but we always make sure to share a glass of wine and some time together at the end of our day."
Considering that Nick's career is heating up—he starts as host of VH1's Big Morning Buzz next month—that commitment to togetherness is even more important.
For Valentine's Day, they'll get even more time together—on a vacation just for two! "We are going to celebrate this year by taking a little romantic getaway together," he said. "Always nice to spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy each other."
As much as we loved (and we mean we really loved) Nick and Jessica Simpson on Newlyweds, it sounds like he and Vanessa have a truly long-lasting marriage in the works. And now, we can see why!
