More than one star has embraced the idea: Michael Buble was spotted wearing his ring months before his wedding to his Argentinian fiancée, and reportedly told a Canadian audience this about the custom: "The boy also wears the engagement ring. That's what she tells me anyway." And, when actress and singer Jennifer Hudson's boyfriend proposed to her, she responded with a five-carat Neil Lane diamond ring for him to wear, too.

Those (adorable!) guys might be in the minority, but a survey of engaged couples conducted last year by Robbins Brothers, a national jewelry chain, revealed some surprising thoughts on wedding traditions: More than half of the male respondents (67 percent, to be exact) said they'd definitely be "open" to wearing an engagement ring.

So when we got engaged, I wanted to wear one, too. It wasn't like a big diamond or anything, it was my wedding band—I just put it on early. I thought it was a nice nod to her culture, and she very much appreciated that I was willing to do it."
