What Should My Fiancé Wear to Our Summer Wedding?

So you've found the perfect wedding dress for your summer wedding. Now comes the next part—what should your fiancé wear? Our wedding etiquette experts are here to answer your groomswear questions in our daily post.

We're having a summer wedding&mash;what should the groom wear?

No matter when you're getting married, you want your groom to be the best-dressed man in attendance. Good thinking. The key for a wedding in any season is an ensemble that is elegant but still festive—here are our favorite ideas for a summer affair.

1. Cotton khaki suit
Consider ivory or a creamy khaki or even white, if you happen to be getting married on a beach. This always looks clean and crisp, and you can even pair it with a bow tie. But make sure the tie is on the narrow side: You don't want one of those big, floppy printed ones.

2. Seersucker
Skip the brightly colored versions and go for more subdued blue or gray stripes—much easier to pull off. And when sporting seersucker, you don't need a loud, expressive tie. Go for something classic because the suit makes enough of a statement on its own.

3. No jacket, no tie
If it's an informal wedding, ties and jackets aren't mandatory. But if you don't wear them, make sure you choose a shirt with character. Try a guayabera, a traditional Mexican wedding shirt (meant to be worn untucked), or a classic tucked-in white dress shirt (always a safe bet).
