Watch: Badgley Mischka Bride's Fall 2014 Bridal Runway Show

Wedding Dresses

A luxe, Art Deco vibe was the inspiration behind Badgley Mischka Bride's Fall 2014 collection of utterly glamorous wedding dresses. "The Badgley Mischka 2014 Bridal Collection really goes back to the DNA of our style—the glamour of 'Old Hollywood'; we fused it with the effortless chic of the French Riviera of the 30's for a bride of any era," the designers wrote in their show program. With glittery beading, soft mermaid skirts, and body-skimming silhouettes, they managed to capture the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's golden age in a way that still speaks to contemporary brides.

Silk fabrics and cap sleeves helped channel stylish stars like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, while modern touches like tulle peplums and illusion necklines kept the collection of-the-moment. That old-meets-new mix was evident in every look: Tasteful long sleeves were paired with daring, deep V-necks, intricate beading overlaid modern, blush pink tulle, and simple strapless necklines got a boost from figure-flattering ruching. Chevron-fringe jackets, sheer backs, and sparkling hair pieces (along with voluminously curly, bobbed hair) all added unique touches. The overall effect was sophisticated—with a sparkly edge.

Badgley Mischka Bride often goes for runway-worthy designs that happen to be super-bridal, and this collection is no exception. We can imagine these designs worn at a wedding that's dripping with Old Hollywood-worthy elements like metallics and lots and lots of diamonds.
