You know what they say about couples who eat breakfast together. OK, we're kidding ... there isn't a saying about that, but we do think that sitting down with your hubby at the breakfast table is a sure-fire way to a healthier, happier, more connected relationship. (In fact, maybe it's one of your relationship resolutions this year?) But if the two of you are always rushing around with no time for a shared meal, consider these easy breakfast ideas that will help you start your day off right and also show him how much you love him:
1. Say parfait: Got five minutes? Whip up a healthy, delicious yogurt parfait. Just take a glass (yes, a glass, so you can see all the ingredients!) and layer away: Start with a scoop of your favorite yogurt, add a few tablespoons of granola, and top with your favorite berries or fruit. Voila!
2. Scramble away: Eggs can be daunting when you're in a hurry, especially if you don't usually cook in the morning, but a slice of toast and your favorite scramble is an easy luxury that your husband will love. Our favorite way to prepare is to scramble three eggs with a mix of veggies (try a large dice of mushrooms, onions and tomatoes).
3. Smooth it out: You'd be surprised how many men love smoothies. And if you received a blender (or better yet, a Vitamix!) as a wedding gift, take it on a test run with smoothies for two. You can sip them slowly or take them to-go in the car for your commute.
4. Make it ahead: Breakfast burritos are amazing (and, we happen to know that men love them), but if you don't have time to prep and chop and roll them up in the morning (and really, who does?), consider making a big batch and freezing them. Then, on busy mornings, you're ready to go. The two of you can sit down with a healthy, homemade breakfast with zero stress.
