What Husbands Wish Wives Knew

Think you know everything there is to know about your husband? Turns out, most wives still have a lot to learn! We got guys to spill four secret things that they wish we'd get about them:

1. "I like compliments, too." John, a newlywed in Seattle, says he loves showering his wife with compliments because he knows it makes her feel good. "Here's my confession," he says. "I wish she'd give me more compliments. Guys like to know they look good before going out, just like women do."

2. "Being dominant in the bedroom is a good thing." Before Christopher, a husband in Carmel, California, married his wife, he dated women who thought that men preferred passive behavior in the bedroom, and while men's sexual ideals vary wildly, he says most men love it when women take control too. "Sometimes we want to be dominated in bed," he says. "It's a turn on. And I love that my wife gets this." (P.S. Learn all about three surprising benefits of having more sex in your marriage!)

3. "True love doesn't mean being attached at the hip." Yes, you love spending time with your husband (it's why you married him, after all!), but 24-7? Men are the first to admit that space can be a good thing for the health of a relationship. And he'll love that you encourage him to keep up with his guy friends with zero guilt-tripping involved.

4. "I think you look just as hot in running shorts as you do in your LBD." Eli, an engaged man in Houston, Texas, says that he thinks his fiancé looks just as beautiful in her workout clothes as she does when she goes all out with hair, makeup, and glamorous going-out clothes. "I wish she'd believe me when I tell her that I think she's gorgeous in those moments when she just rolls out of bed and gets ready for the gym."
