Every celebrity couple should have a photo of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson on their mantlepiece for inspiration. While some newlywed celebrities certainly seem like they have marriages that will stand the test of time, Hanks and Wilson are well on their way toward a Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward situation—a happy, long-lasting Hollywood marriage.

Hanks helped cement his reputation as a world-class actor and an admirable person during his appearance yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. As he gushed about his two grandchildren, DeGeneres chimed in to congratulate the actor on his milestone wedding anniversary.
"You both just celebrated, both obviously together, 25 years of marriage," DeGeneres said, which Hanks confirmed.
"Yes, 25 years," he said, before (albeit somewhat cheesily) adding, "I'm not one to suck up to the audience, but the only thing we ever argue about is who loves each other more."
We'd doubt that, but somehow, he charmed us into believing it. As for their anniversary celebration, the Best Actor nominee for Captain Phillips—he is currently up for both a SAG award and a Golden Globe for that role—revealed that the fun part hasn't happened yet.
"We decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary by postponing the actual party," Hanks said. "I was working on Broadway at the time so, we can't have a party now, so later on in the year we're just going to have a big blast and we have yet to figure out when it's going to be."
A good sense of humor, an understanding attitude about work schedules, and clear mutual admiration seems to be the recipe for success for Hanks and Wilson. Hey, we bet that would work for any couple!
