A bride and groom celebrated at Kate Hudson's Pacific Palisades property this past Saturday, but unfortunately, the newlyweds weren't Hudson and her fiancé Matt Bellamy. The Hollywood pair, who have already been engaged for more than two years, hosted the wedding of Bellamy's friend (and Muse media manager) Thomas Kirk and his brand-new bride, Jaclyn Ferber.
According to Us Weekly, the ceremony took place in Kate's front yard, which was decked out with bistro chairs, an ivy-covered altar, and a wooden aisle runner covered in autumn-hued leaves. For the reception, guests moved to the Oscar-nominated actress's backyard, where dinner was served around a wooden farm table and guests enjoyed a playful "Teepee" lounge and photo booth. The entire fun fall event was planned by Bash, Please.
Despite how lovely the whole evening sounds, we can't hide our disappoint that the Something Borrowed actress didn't tie the knot. Even her nine-year-old son Ryder, from her first marriage to Chris Robinson, is pressuring his mom to say "I do" sometime soon. "Ryder [is pressuring me] a little bit," Hudson told Ellen DeGeneres last month. "I think he looks forward more to the party than actually the idea of us getting married. Because he has it really planned out what he's wearing...Apparently he wants to wear a neon-green tux. I'm all for it. He's a bit of a fashion boy."
While Ryder has his whole ensemble planned, we haven't heard much about Hudson's future wedding dress. We can't imagine Goldie Hawn's daughter walking down the aisle without her signature plunging neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette. Something silk and possibly metallic would make total sense, too. Unlike her knockout Vera Wang gown in the 2009 movie Bride Wars, we imagine the red carpet show-stopper stepping out in something more bohemian, or perhaps a edgy creation with a sexy twist—basically the iconic How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days yellow dress reimagined in white. A sleek silk sheath with a dramatic cowl back would feel just as appropriate. Even some of the latest Fall 2014 bridal runway dresses, like a Jenny Packham gown, an Elizabeth Fillmore sheath, or an ethereal Hayley Paige with a revealing cutout neckline, below, are perfect for the A-lister's big day!
