Indoor wedding receptions often benefit from colorful lighting to add an extra sense of atmosphere. Does this feature show well in wedding photographs? Our wedding experts are here to answer your questions in our daily post.

My fiancé is obsessed with colorful reception lighting, but I'm worried it will look unflattering in photos. What do you think?

"For close-ups, a decent flash will overpower colored lights," swears lighting artist and designer Bentley Meeker, who's worked his magic for Chelsea Clinton and Robert DeNiro. But color will affect room and crowd shots, so pick warm and, yes, flattering tones, like amber, pink, fuchsia, and lavender. (Cooler shades like greens and deep blues wash people out, giving your guests an extras-from-The Walking Dead vibe.)
