Each week we'll be chronicling the ups and downs on Bravo's I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding. From wedding planner snafus to prenup negotiations and bridesmaidzilla blowouts, tune into our recaps of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star's road to the altar.
After the major Bridesmaidzilla showdown on last week's episode, we weren't sure NeNe and her gal pals would even make it to Cancun for her bachelorette party. But as the motley crew rolls into their resort with a mariachi band playing, sombreros atop their heads (one with a veil attached for NeNe) and smiles on their faces, it almost looks like the cool, calm, and collected weekend getaway NeNe was praying for might actually come true!

But alas, like the good Bridesmaidzillas that they are, NeNe's BFFs cause a few bumps along the way.

First, though, we need to discuss the good that these girls did while away in Mexico. On day one, the group goes swimming with dolphins. All seems hunky dory, especially when Diana (the 'maid who NeNe had to scold) lets Marlo grab onto her for support in the water since she can't swim (Reminder: Marlo and Diana are arch-enemies). We guess Diana took her "team player" talk with NeNe last week to heart!

Later, Diana, plans a lovely blue party on the beach. The idea is simple: every bridesmaid should wear a blue dress to promote peace, positivity, and love. Diana even decked out the oceanfront with cool blue lighting and billowing blue flags. But what we loved so much about the blue party was the memory book she made for NeNe filled with old photos of the bridesmaids and heartwarming, personal notes from each friend. Even better, Diana told each woman to read her letter (and subsequently tear up) to NeNe out loud. This is a really touching gift idea that any girl could give to her BFF/future bride. Plus, it doesn't cost much to put together! (It is, after all, the thought that counts).

But of course, all good things must come to and end, and shortly after the girls share their mementos, Cynthia brings up an irrefutable fact: Marlo, one of the pot-stirring bridesmaids, is the only bridesmaid not wearing the requisite blue. Everyone in the bridal party agrees that this is drawing the attention away from NeNe when that night (and that weekend, rather) was supposed to be about her. What's the lesson here? Don't break away from the bridal party's instructions. This is the one time in your life you must act like a team player!
The next day, NeNe says her piece: "Being a part of a wedding is about showing the bride how much you want to support and love them and what they mean to you," NeNe confesses. "And I felt that Marlo failed that test last night."
Another major don't? Getting too drunk during any bachelorette activity, especially a dress fitting. NeNe, who only has seven days left until she says "I do," manages to schedule some essential wedding tasks in between tequila shots and surfing lessons. One of which is a final bridesmaid dress fitting for her girls (she even flew in her seamstress all the way from Miami!). Unfortunately, bridesmaid Lexis has been drinking morning, noon, and night and can barely stand still as she gets pinned and tucked. So much so, that she ends up vomiting in the seamstress's bathroom. No one wants to be "that girl"—especially when you're supposed to make sure the bride is having the time of her life! As NeNe so aptly says, "This is a dress fitting party, not a frat party."
Once the bride-to-be sees all of her besties dressed to impress, she breaks down in tears of joy. We can't wait to see all of the over-the-top details come together in her two-part wedding special, airing this Sunday at 9pm!
