Get the Look: Brides December/January Cover!

December January 2013/2014 cover

Eager to emulate the fresh, simple elegance of our December/January cover? Think clean and classic with this minimalist (and oh-so-flattering) fit-and-flare gown by Blush by Hayley Paige. A low, loose chignon styled by Kevin Woon at Jed Root—paired with a Sara Gabriel tiara placed at the side instead of center—gave it a not-so-traditional twist. We added Hearts on Fire diamond studs and pendant, a Harry Winston bracelet and a to-die-for sparkler from Cartier. (We think it amounts to just the right touch of holiday sparkle, no?) A poppy pink and red bouquet of garden roses designed by Lewis Miller Designs added a girlish flare—and also matched our model's cheeks! Our makeup artist, Regina Harris, finished with Maybelline New York's Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink, which gave our cover girl just the wedding-day flush she needed.

Photographed by the talented Patric Shaw, this month's cover look was shot entirely in natural light. That's about as fresh and simple as things can get.

As for the rest of the magazine—as in all 346 pages—we've got all the inspiration and advice you need for planning an amazing wedding covered.

For our annual bling-tastic blowout ("Find Your Rock Star," page 310), we carefully inspected, debated, and curated this year's most gorgeous designs. (If you already have your diamond, play close attention to the sidebar on how to maintain its luster. You want that ring to last a lifetime!) And of course you'll need to round up your bridesmaids, which presents plenty of etiquette issues. Do you have to ask someone who asked you? Or his sister? Or your sister? We have the answers to these and other tough questions in "Ultimate Guide to the Bridal Party" (page 255). Once you have your team, it's time to set the scene, and when it comes to the reception it's all about personalizing—making your day your own. Wedding planners, bloggers, and our editors pitched in with ideas for "10 Great Ideas That Don't Cost a Thing" (page 222). We narrowed them down to the most fresh and brilliant tricks for taking the party up a notch without adding to your bottom line.

Oh, and that thing at the very top of your to-do list? From "Dresses We Love for Under $1,500" (page 164) to our favorite winter wedding looks ("Let's Get Cozy," page 300), we've got you covered. Enjoy!
