Other Than the Best Man or Maid of Honor, Who Can Propose a Wedding Toast?

Everyone knows the best man will eagerly present his toast at the wedding reception, but can your other friends say a few words, too? Our wedding experts explain who can propose a "Cheers!" in our daily post.

Who should propose toasts?

Actually, anyone and everyone (including you and your groom) can propose a wedding toast, though at most weddings, the best man's the only one who steps up to the plate. If you want your maid of honor or other VIPs to say a few words, ask them a month or so in advance. That gives them plenty of time to collect their thoughts—and, we hope enough time to think twice before telling that story about spring break of your freshman year. Cheers!
