This weekend, New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis continued the trend with a second wedding celebration at the tony Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. The pair of ten years first married in a super-secret ceremony on the roof of their New York City home on December 12 (the 12-12-12 date was a wildly popular day to get married) with just 12 guests in attendance. At the time, Alexis was pregnant with their fourth child and the couple announced plans to host a bigger reception for friends and family in the summer.
And it sounds like it was worth the wait! In true celebratory fashion, the bride and groom each wore two ensembles. Alexis donned a J'Aton Couture gown for their ceremony and Oscar de la Renta dress for the reception. Amar'e wore a Calvin Klein suit for the ceremony and changed into a Lanvin number for the reception, according to E! News.
Guests including Stoudemire's Knicks teammates Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, producers Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and his wife Alicia Keys partied at the Fontainebleau, which is known for its famous midcentury modern architecture and role in many television shows and movies. Also in attendance were the Stoudemires' four children, sons Alijah and Amar'e Jr. and daughters Ar'e and Assata.
Amar'e posted a photo of his groomsmen on Instagram, while Alexis shared photos of guests posing and relaxing at the pool before the wedding, as well as a snapshot of her bouquet and the dinner menu. Her bouquet of deep purple calla lillies, studded with pearls and crystals, matched her groom's boutonniere
The couple got engaged last June at the palatial Belle Etoile Royal Suite at the Le Meurice Hotel in Paris. Amar'e popped the question with a 8.5-carat radiant-cut white gold diamond ring that he co-designed with Los Angeles-based jeweler Shayan Afshar.
