Of all the women populating Disney's pantheon of princesses, none is more tied to her shoe collection than Cinderella. Glass slippers are, after all, the very thing that take her from scrubbing floors to dancing on them in the arms of a prince.
So how better to commemorate Walt Disney's release of the "Cinderella" Diamond Edition on Blu-ray disc this fall than by commissioning a princess-worthy shoe from Parisian master Christian Louboutin? Known for his signature red soles and whimsical designs, Louboutin honored Disney with a peep-toe pump of white lace and Swarovski crystals delicately accented by three-dimensional butterflies.
"Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairy-tale love, but also shoes," Louboutin told WWD when the heels went on display in Paris this week. "Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale."
If you're just as inspired by the Cinderella story and love the look of Louboutin's Disney-fied shoes, why not go all the way? Alfred Angelo's line of Disney Fairy Tale wedding dresses—Cinderella's sparkling ball gown chief among them—make an obvious match with the limited-edition, nearly five-inch heels.
