We plan to hold our wedding outdoors next August. What do we do if it rains? Should we put a rain date on the invitations? —Katy M. of Wilmington, Mass., via Facebook
Dear Katy,
First you should consult a Farmers' Almanac to get a sense of how likely it is to rain on your day. Even then, there's no guarantee. Your guests, officiant, caterer, and florist can only organize themselves for one date for you; to ask them to hold two different days would be an imposition on their time—not to mention incredibly expensive. Much less expensive and more doable: a tent.
