Matthew McConaughey is officially a married man, thanks to Brazilian model and designer Camila Alves. The longtime couple, who got engaged at the end of 2011, tied the knot over the weekend at the couple's home in Austin, Texas, reports E! News.
Following in the footsteps of fellow celebrity duos Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman, who were married in the backyard of their California home, and Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, who also said "I do" just steps away from their own front door, McConaughey and Alves' backyard wedding seems to point towards a trend in celebrity nuptials.
This time, however, reports say that McConaughey and Alves invited their 100+ wedding guests to keep the party going all night long and well into the next day with a group slumber party held in several state of the art tents! "It's definitely a campground, but they weren't exactly roughing it," one source explained to Us Weekly. "They have showers, restrooms, and air conditioning. It's very unique, high-end camping."
McConaughey, 42, proposed to the 29-year-old with a rose cut diamond, which Alves showed off for the first time during a QVC's New York Fashion Week show back in February. No word yet as to what the brunette bride wore, but if recent red carpet appearances are any indication, Alves no doubt dazzled friends and family in a figure-flattering gown, perhaps at the hands of Marchesa, whom she was recently spotted wearing at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. McConaughey, meanwhile, who is known for favoring flip flops over fabric, most likely wore a classic black tux. The couple have two children together, Levi, almost 5, and daughter Vida, age 2. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. McConaughey!
