Lisa and Chris met through work, but Lisa admits that for the first year of their relationship, she considered them just friends. "I actually tried to suggest girls Chris should date, but he was persistent," she says. "Eventually I fell head over heels for him!"
The couple decided to host their wedding at Skylight One Hanson, a historic building that was formerly the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. "We live in Brooklyn, so we wanted a unique setting that honored the borough," says the bride, who wore an Amsale gown from the Wedding Salon of Manhasset. She carried a bouquet of peonies, Juliet garden roses, and feathers. Her attendants included three bridesmaids, who wore Jim Hjelm gowns, and her brother, who served as man of honor.
At the 4:30 p.m. ceremony, held in an area that was once the bank's vault, the bride's father walked her down the aisle. The couple exchanged vows in front of their 190 guests.
Afterward, the couple's guests enjoyed cocktail hour, which took place in the main hall, in the side sections that once housed tellers. Guests enjoyed Champagne mojitos and passed hors d'oeuvres such as Baja fish tacos and truffl ed prosciutto popovers. All catering was provided by Abigail Kirsch Catering. The four-course dinner began with a watermelon and heirloom tomato salad. "The food was important to us—we both love to eat!" Lisa says. For dessert, guests were served slices of wedding cake (also by Abigail Kirsch) made with Nutella-praline crunch filling and adorned with abstract sugar flowers.
For their first dance, Lisa and Chris chose Ingrid Michaelson's version of "Can't Help Falling in Love." Later, guests hit the dance floor as the live band the Touch played a mix of old and new hits. At the end of the night, bottles of prosecco were given as favors.
