Maria and Casey first met in 2000, during their freshman year of college. Maria told Casey, a saxophonist in a band, that she was a singer and he suggested she sing with them sometime. Their paths, however, didn't cross again till senior year, when a friend called and asked Maria to audition for the band—at Casey's insistence. "I couldn't believe he remembered me!" she says. "I went, and we started dating a few weeks later. I even 'guested' with the band a few times."

For their wedding, Casey donned a Ralph Lauren Black Label tuxedo. Maria wore a Valentino Sposa gown from Pronovias and carried a rose bouquet. Their wedding bands were by Cartier.

The ceremony was held at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, the groom's family parish. The bride walked down the aisle with her father, and the ceremony included a performance of "Ave Maria," sung and played by friends.

The reception was held in the ballroom of a private club in Center City. At cocktail hour, the newlyweds surprised guests with their rendition of Ella Fitzgerald's "Deed I Do," with Casey on sax and Maria on vocals. Tables were named after favorite love songs, and were decorated with centerpieces of red mokara orchids arranged by the bride's aunt and uncle, who are florists.

The wedding cake, by Cakes by Suzy, was frosted with marshmallow meringue then torched so that it resembled a giant s'more. Guests also enjoyed Maria's grandmother's famous baklava, and gelato from a Capogiro Gelato cart the couple hired for the reception.

For their first dance, Maria and Casey chose "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green, performed by the Don Hanson Orchestra. "Since Casey plays sax, we wanted to find a band with a strong horn section. Plus, this group's repertoire was phenomenal," Maria says. The rest of the evening was filled with exuberant toasts as well as poignant moments with friends and family members.
