Last year, we asked readers to tell us about their fantasy weddings, and almost a thousand of you responded. The result: February's "Portrait of a Dream Wedding 2012," which focuses on the common themes and trends that emerged in your essays.

Unfortunately, we didn't have room for everyone's nuptials. Here are some of the more unique wedding ideas you won't find in the issue.

"For the reception, I want to have The Office as my theme! Different characters for table numbers, with a little bio on each, and a Jim & Pam wedding-cake topper."
—Anna B., Batavia, OH

"A Jet Ski wedding is what I dream of.... Flower girls in flower swimsuits ride together, throwing seashells into the ocean. Wearing a white, shimmering bikini, a long veil catching the wind, I ride through an aisle formed by everyone's skis. Then my fiance, wearing dark pinstriped swim trunks, leaps ocean spray to meet me."
—Jasmine K., San Jose, CA

"I want me and my girls to look like 1940s Elvgren pinup girls, and my fiance wants to look like he just won a Grammy for best band ever."
—Randi H., Tallahassee, FL

"We'd love a medieval-themed wedding, with a jester to entertain the guests as they arrived. To start the ceremony, a bard would tell the story of how we met. Our priest would be dressed as a monk, and after the ceremony, all the guests would be invited to a masquerade ball."
—Kimberly G., Leslie, GA

"My dream wedding would include fun, fantasy, and family. There would be fun games to play, and there would be surprises such as Jedi groomsmen, communicator-pin boutonnieres and corsages, and a cake topper with the bride sneaking a pinch of the groom's bottom."
—Gretchen C., Mandeville, LA
