Hotel Jashita in Tulum, Mexico, is a hidden gem for honeymooners looking for a secluded beach vacation that's not too far from home. My friend recently returned from a trip to the resort and couldn't stop gushing about how amazing every aspect of the experience was—from the boutique hotel's interior design and prime beachfront locale to the incredible dining experience at the resort's Cafe Sahara restaurant (high praise, considering she's a serious foodie!) to the extremely attentive, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Her rave reviews prompted me to check out this paradise for myself—unfortunately, via Internet and not in person. More photos and details after the jump.

There's more!

Tucked on the north end of Soliman Bay on Riviera Maya, Hotel Jashita offers a completely private romantic getaway, ideal for honeymooners, with crystal clear water and miles of pristine beaches. Swim, snorkel, or kayak at your leisure or arrange for a guided scuba dive to see the Mayan ruins. No jet skis or speedboats permitted in the area, which means a much more quiet and relaxing beach experience.

The intimate resort consists of just 14 rooms in total, including the Villa Jasmine, a spacious, private five-bedroom house. All of the beachfront rooms open up to a large private terrace with a sunbed, breakfast table (a complimentary breakfast is included every day), and private relaxing pool—and breathtaking unobstructed views of the bay.

Rates start at $140 (garden view room) and $280 (beachfront room) in low season. Consult the website for packages and details on hosting your destination wedding or honeymoon at Hotel Jashita Tulum.
