Wedding Cake(s) of the
Week: Halloween!

Just in time for Halloween, I put together a roundup of my favorite All Hallows' Eve-themed wedding cakes and cake toppers—they're certainly spooky but still chic and elegant enough to be wedding-appropriate. This amazing Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired cake (above) was created by The Sweetest Day, a bakery in Nashville, TN, and featured fondant-covered tiers decorated with spiderwebs and stitching details done using edible markers. The bride provided the Jack Skellington and Sally figurines, which were displayed in front of a giant moon cut from orange fondant.

Tim Burton's other delightfully macabre fairy tale Corpse Bride is the inspiration for this three-tier wedding cake (above left). Somehow, skulls and bones look whimsical and sweet when they're painted in pastel shades of yellow, baby blue, and pink, don't you think? And the jet-black hue of the topsy-turvy cake (right) adds a glamorous touch to counter the ghoulish motifs and jack-o'-lanterns.

For a more subtle nod to Halloween, top a simply frosted cake with one of these quirky cake toppers. Both the Frankenstein couple and zombie bride and groom are handpainted wooden dolls—they add just the right Halloween touch and also make a great keepsake after the wedding. Happy Halloween! —Heather Lee
