Runway Sneak Peek:
Augusta Jones Sketch

Wedding Dresses

Illustration: Courtesy of the designer

Augusta Jones designer Charlotte Leung looked to two of the past century's most iconic decades for her Fall 2012 inspiration: from the 1920s, she drew on bias cuts, high necklines, looser shapes, and jewels; and from the '50s, she borrowed tailored classic cuts, boat necklines, and beautifully handcrafted floral details. This dress, called Rita, is a strapless, ruched organza and satin gown with a dramatic mermaid skirt featuring floral rosettes. It's the kind of wedding dress, Leung says, that "makes you feel like a movie star walking the red carpet." For more designs from Augusta Jones, browse our Wedding Dresses gallery. —Phillip B. Crook
