Critiquing Emmy red carpet looks as a member of E!'s Fashion Police on Monday, Kelly Osbourne described Heidi Klum's Christian Siriano design as "a mullet dress." One can only assume Osbourne was referring to the fact that Klum's voluminous skirt was shorter in the front than it was in the back—as per the old mullet adage "business in the front, party in the back." So, in honor of Kelly's quick tongue, this week's featured gown keeps things serious up top, while a party rages down below. Jim Hjem's pairing of a simple, satin bodice and spaghetti straps with a riotous, frothy full-length skirt marries the best of restrained and exaggerated aesthetics—just, please, don't call it a mullet.
