"Russell and I wanted our wedding to have an inviting and cheerful atmosphere, which is why we chose to use sunflowers," says Katie. "We hoped they'd signal to our guests that they should relax, kick off their shoes, and have a good time." The bride wore a 2be Bride by Elizabeth Darcy gown from Bridals by Lori, while Russell sported a tux from Perno's Formal Wear, accessorized with a custom-made bow tie and cummerbund and a sunflower boutonniere. The outdoor ceremony was held at a private club. The aisle was decorated with white petals. During cocktail hour, the couple's 220 guests were offered a drink called the "Oak Island," named for the location of Katie's family's vacation home in New York. The reception was held in a tent set up on the club's golf course.
