To be honest, when I'm shopping for a wedding present, I much prefer to skip the couple's wedding registry (eeeps, sorry!) and give them something I've found on my own. My criteria for a wedding-worthy gift: something that's unique, useful, and preferably personalized. And now I think I've found my new go-to gift—custom vases by Maid of Clay, a ceramics line based in Southern California. First, each vase is hand thrown on a pottery wheel; then, the couple's names or initials are hand carved from the clay. Choose from cursive or block lettering styles for their names and wedding date; monogram vases are also available and would make a great bridesmaid gift. Prices start at $52 for a custom vase; to see all styles, check out the Maid of Clay online shop. —Heather Lee
