Michael Kors' Understated Wedding Band

Designer Michael Kors married his longtime partner Lance LePere on Dune Beach in Southampton, NY last week. To commemorate the union, Kors asked jeweler Janis Savitt, who he has collaborated with for his own collections, to design wedding bands for the couple. The rings Savitt created are streamlined platinum designs with diamonds—inherited from each of their families—set on the underside. Unconventional, yes. And this is just a (far-fetched) guess, but maybe Kors was inspired the late-70s/early-80s glamour he loves so much, a time when Diana Ross' "Upside Down" was blasting on the dance floor: "Upside down, boy, you turn me inside out and round and round..." —Phillip B.
