Cool! A Letterpress iPad App

Invites & Stationery

Video: Jason Lindsey

If you don't have an iPad already, you're about to want one real bad. That's just how crazy-awesome the letterpress app is from John Bonadies, a graphic designer based in Chicago. LetterMpress functions like an old-fashioned studio complete with metal plates, grainy wooden blocks, and trays full of tools. As in the actual trade, you digitally place your movable type blocks into the desired arrangement, coat the plate with ink, and roll the crank to produce a print. While the app might require a lil' previous know-how around a studio, once mastered, the prospects for creating custom e-vites and stationery for your wedding are endless. Just look at how many different results users have already yielded. And if, for example, you find yourself mired in wedding planning madness, you can also make yourself one of these. —Phillip B.
