Wedding Cake of the Week:
Purple M&Ms

This week's cake is a bold, modern design photographed by Beth Armsheimer Photography. The three-tier cake is decorated with alternating stripes of purple and lavender M&Ms, then topped with Polaroids of the bride and groom "kissing." The M&Ms online store offers 25 colors (not found in the regular candy packages), so you can choose hues that match your wedding's color scheme. Embellishing your wedding cake with favorite candies is one of our favorite cake decorating ideas—plus, it's much more affordable than, say, sugar flowers or fondant cutouts. (Also, I was able to find the heart-shaped photo holders online, and they're only $.89 each!) —Heather Lee
