Wedding Video of the Week:
"Edge of Glory"

General consensus is that Lady Gaga's video for "Edge of Glory" is lackluster at best. The song is the musical highlight on her second studio album, Born This Way, yet its accompanying video delivers one monotone note for five and a half minutes—Mother Monster clad in vintage Versace on a fire escape backlit by neon smoke. Or, in other words, what the final scene in Pretty Woman would have been if Julia Roberts had stayed a call girl. Enter Jason O'Ffill, who reimagined "Edge of Glory" as the story of one gay couple's wedding day. O'Ffill's music video presents each man's point of view leading up to the sunset beach ceremony—where, strangely, the wedding party and guests are all in dark cocktail attire. (Clearly, someone didn't see our guide to summer wedding dress codes.) As tends to be the case with these videos of the week, it's a bit of a tearjerker, so be warned. —Phillip B. Crook
