Heart Motif

This week's cake is a simple and supersweet design by Flower & Flour in Carolina Beach, NC. Modern square cake tiers are covered in dark chocolate fondant; next, the tiers are decorated with tiny candy flowers in pale pink hues. The flowers are arranged on a corner of the cake in the shape of a heart—a clever way to incorporate a heart motif (one of our favorite style ideas!) into the cake design without being overly saccharine. —Heather Lee
