Would you host your
wedding on a boat?

Recently, my boyfriend and I took a dining cruise on the Hudson River aboard the Bateaux New York. Even though it was pouring outside, we could still see the twinkling lights of Manhattan through the all-glass windows and ceilings of the boat as we enjoyed our dinner while listening to a live jazz band. The whole experience was magical, and I couldn't help but think it would make for a lovely anniversary celebration—in fact, the elderly couple seated a few tables away from us was celebrating their 50th! The Bateaux (pictured, bottom) and its sister ship, the Atlantica (pictured, top), are also available for private events like weddings. I love the idea of a wedding on the water, but I started to wonder if some wedding guests might be annoyed (seasickness, not being able to leave whenever you want) by the floating venue concept. What do you think: Would you host your wedding on a boat, or be excited to be invited to a wedding on a boat? —Lauren Matthews, Brides New York
