In just a few hours, I'll be on my way to London to cover the royal wedding. My home for the week will be boutique-y One Aldwych, super-close to Westminster Abbey, where the future king of England and his bride will be saying their I do's. The hotel has gotten into the spirit by creating a "Will and Kate" champagne cocktail (gin, champagne, elderflower cordial, and fresh English apple puree—yum) and a "Modern Royal Wedding Menu" at its restaurant. Each course on the menu has been served up at past royal receptions, like the quenelle of brill fish in lobster sauce from Prince Charles and Lady Diana's lavish affair in 1981, and the lamb cutlets topped with sweetbreads and morels that the Queen Mother and King George VI (Bertie from The King's Speech) dined on at their wedding in 1923. Keep checking Twitter @brides #royalwedding for my tweets about what royal-wedding mania is like, firsthand.
