Virginia and Jorge met in Jorge's native Bogota, Colombia, when Virginia moved there for a post-college internship. She wore a Vera Wang gown from Bridal Galleria and carried a bouquet of peonies, lilacs, and orchids accented with ostrich and peacock feathers. "We wanted to create an eclectic, playful environment inspired by the decor of Andres Carne de Res, a famous nightclub in Bogota," says Virginia. Reception tables featured arrangements of vibrant orchids, sea fans, painted palm leaves, and feathers. "Jorge and I love to dance," says Virginia, who wore a traditional bomba skirt for their first dance, to "La Bomba con Usted" ("Dancing Bomba With You"). "We thought performances throughout the wedding would inspire our guests to get on the dance floor, which is exactly what happened!"
