Every time my husband and I travel with friends, they're amazed that we bring just one carry-on. "How do you fit so much stuff in that?" they exclaim as we breeze past them with our small wheelie, while they wait for their overstuffed suitcases at the baggage carousel.
So when our pals finally meet us at the pool, here's what I tell 'em: Packing light is easy if you repeat items (seriously, one pair of jeans each will do) and mix and match to create different outfits. You can easily get a week's wardrobe into a regulation roller (one of my fave styles is the Tumi Vapor) by whittling your wardrobe down to practical but stylish, destination-appropriate pieces. Check out our April issue, which breaks down what to pack in your carry-on for a seven-day European honeymoon/getaway.
