If you're looking for a wedding dress made in a more eco-conscious manner, check out the gowns by Canadian designer Adele Wechsler. Her gowns are fashioned using chemical-free and organic hemp and silk, vegetable-based dyes, and remnant fabrics and lace; also, her line is produced in Toronto according to fair trade labor practices.
SoCal brides can meet Adele Wechsler in person this weekend at a trunk show at Lili Bridals, in Tarzana. From April 8 to 10, brides can get personal gown-fitting advice from Adele and try on the newest styles from her Eco Couture collection. Lili Bridals will donate a percentage of each gown sold to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which raises and feeds orphaned infant elephants until they are ready to be released back into the wild. A tree will also be planted for every sold gown. To make a trunk show appointment, call Lili Bridals at 818-774-9700. —Carly Totten, Editorial Intern, Brides.com
