Will someone create an Oscar category for most MOB-worthy gown, please? Because if there were such a thing, Helen Mirren would have at least two of those accolades by now—one for her 2007 Christian Lacroix gown (in which she won an actual Best Actress award) and another for this year's custom Vivienne Westwood.
Mother-of-the-brides (and grooms!) take note, the silhouette and proportions are age-appropriate while staying far from matronly territory. We also like the dress on Russell Brand's mother, Barbara. The nude illusion base and black lace overlay make for head-to-toe elegance, and the bateau neck beautifully frames her glowing face.
