Wedding Cake of the Week: Modern Silhouette

This is one of the coolest wedding cakes I've seen in a while—a modern take on the popular silhouette motif, with handpainted scribbles throughout. The design was inspired by the couple's creative wedding invitation (right), which resembles a notebook page covered in doodles. To create the wedding cake, Melody Brandon of Sweet and Saucy Shop cut the silhouettes from fondant and painted all of the words and illustrations by hand. —Heather Lee
