Screen Actor's Guild Awards 2011: Battle of the White Dresses

Celebrity, Wedding Dresses

The color story at the Golden Globes was all about rich tones like greens and reds, while bright pinks and oranges were splashed all over the Screen Actor's Guild Awards red carpet on Sunday. One trend that never fails to appear? White dresses. Why? The timeless look of chic white is a favorite among celebrities, and a guaranteed way to stand out on the red carpet. Vote below for which celeb's style you liked best. —Cari Wolfert

Battle of the Nominated Actresses: Natalie Portman vs. Amy Adams

Natalie Portman won the best actress award for her role in Black Swan, but her Azzaro dress received poor remarks from the fashion critics. Amy Adams, nominated for her role in The Fighter, looked outstanding in her super-slim fitting Herve L. Leroux dress. Did we mention that she gave birth to her daughter less than a year ago?

Battle of the Entertainment News Correspondents: E!'s Giuliana Rancic vs. Extra's Renee Bargh

Giuliana Rancic (or Gigi as her SAG Awards co-host Ross Matthews likes to call her) certainly is the better-known personality, and her chiffon-y Ema Savahl gown is likely to please her fellow Fashion Police panel, but bonus points go to newcomer Renee Bargh who went for a riskier look in a one-shoulder gown with oversized ruffle details.

Battle of the Best Ensemble, Comedy Series Nominees: Lea Michele vs. Ariel Winter

Ok, so honestly, the fashion here is no competition. It's not to say that we don't like Ariel Winter of Modern Family's dress—her tea-length style with black belt was both age-appropriate and fashion forward, as well as a perfect pick for a junior bridesmaid. However, Lea Michele continued to cement her status as a red carpet darling in her beaded Oscar de la Renta gown. We teamed these two up because both their shows continue to go head-to-head (last year Glee took home the win, this year Modern Family walked away with statues) and we hope the two shows will keep competing, and showing up in dreamy fashions, for years to come.
