I just chatted with Kristin Norris, managing director of Anthropologie's new BHLDN wedding line (which will be launched on Monday, February 14th), and got the full scoop on the collection, as well as an exclusive photo (above) of two looks.

Brides.com: What inspired the BHLDN line?

Kristin Norris: We created three inspiration boards, which featured items like photos of vintage dresses and pieces of fabric we've collected along the way, but then we tried to move beyond those and create dresses that each had their own point of view.

Brides.com: What "type" of bride were you designing for?

Kristin Norris: Someone who is optimistic, well-educated, well-traveled--or wants to be well-traveled—and has a sense of whimsy.

Brides.com: What type of wedding would a BLHDN dress fit best?

Kristin Norris: I think there's such a broad variety of weddings, from a 300-person extravaganza in a grand ballroom to an intimate gathering in someone's backyard. But I do think the collection would be most perfect for an outdoor wedding, perhaps under a really inventive tent that was once used for circuses, definitely connected with nature. But it could even be great for a wedding in a bowling alley or in a manor home that's slightly dilapidated but still glamorous and beautiful.

Brides.com: What's your favorite gown in the collection?

Kristin Norris: It's a gray hand-pleated cotton silk voile dress (above) that takes a traditional shape and completely reinvents it. It has such incredible movement to it.

Brides.com: I think everyone's going to be really excited about the bridesmaid and party dresses. What was the inspiration for those?

Kristin Norris: We're focused on providing an assortment of dresses that you can mix and match. Many of the silhouettes come in several colors and patterns that brides can use to build a beautiful party. We're also creating a feature on our website where we'll show you how to repurpose the dresses for other events.

Brides.com: Tell us about some of the website's unique features.

Kristin Norris: Each wedding gown will have a video so that you can see how the dress moves. There will also be a styling service, where you can contact a BHLDN expert over the phone or via email, someone who provide assistance with fit, styling your bridal party, or what shoes would look best with a particular dress.

Brides.com: How often will a new collection be released?

Kristin Norris: New wedding dresses will be released four times a year, and new bridesmaid and party dresses every month. I'm really excited about the collection coming out in August—we're doing separates, so that you can mix and match for an infinite number of looks. I love the idea of a bride wearing her grandmother's blouse with a skirt—it's a great way to personalize your ensemble for the day. —Kim Forrest

The collection will be available online only on BHLDN's website starting on Monday, February 14th. The dresses will be available in sizes 0-14, and will be shipped immediately—they should arrive to you within three to four days. A bricks-and-mortar store in a yet-to-be-disclosed location is in the works for this August. Don't forget to visit our dress gallery to check out more designer wedding dresses.
