Mixing alcohol with chocolate is pretty much never a bad idea, but instead of using sweet and formal options like champagne and Grand Marnier, California-based brewmaster turned candymaker Steve Casselman has perfected the use of beer in candy. Candy caramels made with real beer are covered in complementing chocolate like India pale ale caramel covered in white chocolate and stout caramel covered in dark. Boxes of 4 are $6.50 and would make the perfect addition to your welcome basket or could be given out as favors if you're a beer-loving couple. Check out beercandy.com for more info. —Cari Wolfert
