I think it's safe to say that candy and dessert buffets have moved from "popular trend" to "perennial favorite" at this point. But setting up a dessert table requires a whole lot of patience, styling skills, and research—which is why outsourcing this task can be a good idea. Sandra Downie—whose event design firm specializes in couture dessert table buffets—just sent me some photos of her recent creations, which are mouthwatering, in every sense of the word.

Sandra and her Connecticut-based team custom design each table to encompass your theme, colors, and wedding details, and source goodies from hand-selected bakers, confectioners, and candy purveyors. They also take care of the linens, vessel rentals, serveware, floral arrangements, personalized treat tags and take-home boxes, set-up, breakdown, and maintenance (i.e. refilling the table as needed). You can find out more about hiring Sandra on her website and find lots of lovely wedding style inspiration on her blog, thewhitelibrary.com. —Lauren Matthews, editor, Brides Connecticut
