Despite being the head planner at Jubilee Events, Candice found planning her own wedding to be a challenge. "There were about 10 different weddings I could have planned and been excited about!" she says. Her wedding-day shoes, a pair of stylish purple heels, ended up sparking the wedding's overall look. "They were the inspiration for almost every style decision we made," says the bride. "I've worked at so many beautiful reception venues, so it was difficult to choose among them," says Candice. While scouting locations for a client, she found the Gershon Fox Room at Marquee. "I immediately fell in love with its Art Deco style," she says. She and Michael also liked the venue because its layout allowed for cocktails, dinner, and dancing to each be held in a different room. For their first dance, the couple chose Van Morrison's "Someone Like You." "My parents' first dance was to Frank Sinatra's 'The Best Is Yet to Come,' a lyric that also appears in the Van Morrison song," says Candice. "We actually incorporated the line into the wedding in several different ways, including on our cake topper." Rob Alberti's Event Services provided the evening's music and lighting.
