High & Mighty

Colorado, Favors & Gifts

Out-of-town guests visiting Colorado for the first time may not know how the mountains' high altitude will affect them—namely that less oxygen often causes dizziness, nausea, and headaches—so keep them informed. Since water is key, I think it's a good idea to include a water bottle in their welcome baskets. Instead of handing out multiple plastic bottles of Poland Springs, I'd suggest getting these stainless steel water bottles from EarthLust's new Vintage Collection ($16-$21). They're not only more stylish, they're way more eco-friendly.

Another good addition to the welcome basket: high-altitude relief tablets from Altigen, which are packed with Chinese and Tibetan herbs that the company claims keeps oxygen flowing in the blood to relieve the symptoms of altitude sickness. So hopefully the only thing leaving guests breathless will be the views at your reception site. —Lauren Matthews, editor, Brides Colorado
