Get glowing skin in two weeks

Detox plans have never appealed to me—obviously, losing weight and having more energy sounds like a brilliant idea, but I really don't have the discipline to live off of fruit juice and raw veggies for days at a time. But when I was recently sent the GliSODin Skin Nutrients Advanced Detoxification Formula, I was intrigued: the plan promised to eliminate the toxins (heavy metals, chemicals, microbial compounds, and bi-products of protein metabolism) that can cause blemished and dull skin, low energy, and poor digestion.

So here's what I had to do: mix a packet of the detox powder with water, and take it twice daily (when I woke up, and before I went to sleep). The formula is supposed to initiate toxin elimination on its own, but it's recommended that you follow a healthy eating plan to maximize results—lots of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, hummus, fish, tofu, beans, etc.; some coffee, dairy, chicken, and beef; and absolutely no sugar, fried foods, white carbs, or alcohol (though you're allowed two glasses of red wine per week). The "neutraceuticals" (a cocktail of antioxidants and botanical extracts) then get to work cleaning out your liver, digestive system, kidneys, lungs and skin.

The results: awesome. By the end of the 15 day cycle, I swear my skin was looking better than it had in a long time (several friends commented on how I looked like I was "glowing") and I had lost four pounds (I stuck to the easy-to-follow healthy eating plan pretty strictly—except for a few extra glasses of wine and a run-in with a homemade chocolate chip cookie). GliSODin Skin Nutrients Advanced Detoxification Formula will run you $125 for a 15 day supply, and is available at spalook.com. —Lauren Matthews, editor
