Our staff is of course always scouring the Internet for the next big talent in the world of weddings, and I think I've discovered it in New York's City Cakes bakery.
When I heard that City Cakes owners Benny Rivera and Marc Matthias honed their skills in the kitchen of master cake baker and magazine editor darling Colette Peters of Colette's Cakes, I was intrigued. And after clicking through the bakers' online portfolio, I'm happy to report that City Cakes does not disappoint. Rivera and Matthias' top–notch training is obvious when you see their clean, well–executed traditional designs, but where they really shine is in their cakes with a fun, contemporary aesthetic. The perfectly polished fondant masterpieces featuring bright colors and whimsical shape are perfect for the modern bride with a sense of humor.
In addition to your wedding day work of art, Rivera and Matthias also love creating creative, flamboyant confections for bachelorette parties, like this cheeky design featured on the shop's Facebook page.
