Grand Rapids, Mich.-based photographers Ben and Mindy Peterson of Studio 6.23 shared a gorgeous wedding they recently photographed at one of our favorite Michigan venues, the Blue Dress Barn in Millburg. For the reception, instead of traditional escort cards, guests located their table by referring to this lovely seating poster, which was displayed on a wooden easel at the entrance. The poster was designed by the groom Thomas Drennen, a graphic designer who also created the rest of the wedding stationery, including the save-the-dates, invitations, and programs. "Since our reception was held in a barn, traditional escort cards didn't really fit our vision of a low-maintenance, rustic, and elegant wedding," says Lauren, the bride. "Also, a poster was so simple to set up, rather than having to arrange hundreds of little escort cards." Thomas and Lauren enjoyed the stationery design process so much that they created Woo La La, a custom design and invitation studio based in Chicago, where they currently reside. See more photographs of their wedding on the Studio 6.23 blog as well as in the latest issue of Brides Michigan magazine on newsstands now—the couple is featured in a fashion and beauty story on page 156! —Heather Lee, Editor, Brides Michigan
